Kobayashi Katsuhisa is a talented woodworker who understands not only the “what” of the woods that he uses but the “why” of design. Because of that, he is enamored with the American Shaker perspective on the relationship between utility and beauty. In this tea box, Kobayashi-san has cleverly and extremely skillfully modified the classic Shaker oval box for modern purposes. A flat, tightly fitted lid is covered by a traditional one with swallowtails and copper tacks. The exterior of the box and lids are then carefully rubbed with beeswax. This oak, Shaker-style tea box is too beautiful to be relegated to your cabinet. Fill the natural, untreated interior with spices, ground coffee, loose tea, or any small item that needs to be contained.

 

Shipping

All items in stock will be shipped from San Diego, CA within 1-5 business days after your order and payment have been received. Shipping charges and applicable California sales taxes for California residents are not included in the product price and will be added, unless otherwise specified. Shipping fees are not refundable.

Shipping to Alaska & Hawaii

Shortly after you place an order, we will contact you with estimated shipping costs. You will then receive via email a separate invoice for the cost of shipping. We will ship your order once payment for the cost of shipping is received. Please note that shipping costs are not refundable in the event of a return.

International Shipping

We ship internationally. Please contact us for availability to your destination and for rates. We will send your order after receiving payment for the order and shipping costs. You will be responsible for any import duties, VAT, or tariffs that are required upon arrival in your country. All international shipping fees are not refundable.

Gift Shipping

We can include a message for gifts. Please write your message in the ’order notes’ section at checkout, and we will include it in the shipment.
